Today in the Regiment Airsoft boot camp we are covering multiple shot grenade launchers.
Multiple shot airsoft grenade launchers look similar to large revolvers and carry approx six shells. You can load up the multiple chambers with whatever you want, multiple BB shells, balls or rubber bullet. If you choose you can get creative, one rubber ball, one multiple BB or use the half and half technique.
Note half and half is only a description. The idea is you fill the airsoft launcher with the shells that will be used the most at the beginning of the rotation and the “off type” at the end. First it is important to know the way the cylinder rotates. Load your launcher with the type of shells you think you will get the most use from. At the end of the rotation goes the ones that will get limited use. If they are needed rotate the cylinder to the desired ammo and fire, if the round isn’t utilized just keep it in there and reload the other shells. It is also important to know if your airsoft grenade launcher fires then rotates or rotates then fires. This is important to know if you align the “off type” shell to the barrel or to the space before. The other benefit of the “off type” of shell is when it is fired it will give you notice you are out and time to switch to a backup or reload.
Shells can be fired in rapid succession and you can quickly dominate an area. When you stop firing you better have a backup. Both another rifle and more shells. Multiple shot launchers normally take longer to reload and it can be time consuming recharging and reloading the actual shells. This isn’t something you can normally do in game.
The best backup weapon when using a multiple launcher as your primary gun is something small like a pistol or MP5 that can stay out of the way.
