Welcome to the Regiment today what we’re doing is we’re unboxing the M3 Carl Gustaf by Vega Force company
As a guy who’s actually used the real thing and was “lucky” enough to lug the Carl G around first thing I’m going to mention is how light it is at only 7 1/2 pounds (3400g), its considerably lighter than the real steel version at 22 LBS.
The Vega force company has done an impressive job realistically recreating the airsoft M3. Recreating all the features and functionality.
Starting at the back of the Carl Gustaf is an important small detail, the rubber band covering the venturi. On the real CG there’s a rubber band and there’s a reason for that. Firing a live round out of the tube the venturi will ring like a bell unless you attach the rubber band. VFC could have just used a piece of plastic but instead choose to go the extra step and use a real rubber band.
Also at the back we have the Venturi and the Venturi lock. This version opens and closes exactly like the real Gustaf.
Further up are the sling attachments and carrying handle.
Flip out front iron sights are very impressive and simulate accurately the real thing. Also on top and bottom Vega force company made sure to recreate the Carl Gustaf’s sight guards to protect your sights so it doesn’t get caught on your clothes and get ripped off.
The rear iron sights are fully adjustable. Equipped with the various proper adjustment dials out to 800 meters for the real world ammo. The Airsoft version won’t reach 800 meters but the fact that realistic sights are included is increase its realism.
Another small detail is the comfort pad on the shooters side. VFC could have just molded this right into the system but instead they used straps simular to the real MAAWS. The real M3 uses a foam pad and the VFC Airsoft Carl Gustaf uses a plastic one as a substitute. This is actually a benefit because it will help with longevity and durability. This detail is better than the original.
The Safety for the trigger looks and functions like the original. For your selector switch you have safe and fire just like the real thing. It’s not a fully automatic belt fed machine gun, it’s one around at a time.
Overall the the look and functionality of the VFC M3 MAAWS Carl Gustaf is amazing.
Accessories that arrive with the launcher are what you would expect. A easy to follow instruction manual, the main 84mm round with a realistic looking end cap, Scope mount, BB shower shell, 40mm gas grenade shell, four 40mm rubber cap,
What is missing from the box is the mono pod to help stabilize when firing.
Overall this would be a great addition to your personal arsenal the Airsoft Carl Gustaf works just like the real thing and a great item to have.
